Sandakan Safari The Sepilok Orang-utan Rehabilitation Centre is situated inside a 40 sq km reserve and is a permanent sanctuary for the orang-utan (literally ‘wild man of the jungle’) that have been orphaned, injured or confiscated. There is a feeding platform for visitors to observe these beautiful primates and two daily feedings before they wander back into the forest. River Safari Cruise The Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary is one of two known places in the world inhabited by ten species of primates, four of which are endemic to Borneo. It is also one of two places in the world where four colonies of primates inhabit the same place, namely the proboscis monkey, silvered langur, maroon langur and Hose’s or grey langur. It has the highest concentration of proboscis monkeys and orang-utans in Malaysia. Thus, come on down & enjoy the river cruise while being thrilled by our lovely orang utans & hornbills! Itinerary Day 1: (-L/D) am | Meet @ Hotel Lobby / Sandakan Airport. Meet the wild man of Borneo at the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre located in a tropical lowland forest 40 minutes drives from Sandakan town. Upon arrival, proceed to the feeding platform and observe at close range orphaned Orang Utan being rehabilitated under a successful conservation program. Be amazed by the gentleness and intelligence of this man-like primate. Visit the Nature Education Centre to learn more about the Orang Utan and its environment. | pm | Lunch. | pm | After lunch, proceed by land to Sukau and check in at a river lodge. | pm | Later, take a 2 hours riverboat ride to view Proboscis monkeys found gathering at the riverbanks as a daily routine.
