Selingan Turtle Island and Sepilok Orang Utan Tour Selingan Island is one of a group of uninhabited islands straddling the Malaysian and Philippine boundaries lying within the Sulu Seas. This cluster of islands namely three main nesting islands - Pulau Selingan, Pulau Bakkungan Kechil and Pulau Gulisan, covers an area of 1,740 hectares and are protected for the sole purpose of conservation and preservation of turtles and other marine animals inhabiting the area. Selingan island contains the park's headquarters, a visitors centre, basic tourist facilities and accommodation and a turtle hatchery. These limited chalets can accommodate up to maximum of 60 persons per night.

Notes:
- Outdoor activities are subject to weather conditions and may be reorganised to best meet operational situations.
- Please bring along Insect repellent, long sleeve shirts & long pants, raincoat, sun hat, swim wear, comfortable trekking shoes, torch light, water bottle & personal toiletries.
- 5-6 months advance booking is required for this package.

- Due to vagaries of wildlife behaviour and weather, we are unable to guarantee the sightings of these elusive turtles and as such no refunds would be entertained.
- Please observe rules and guidelines of the Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre regarding handling of Orang Utan. Camera fees of RM10 applies

Itinerary

Meet at Hotel Lobby (0945hrs) or Sandakan Airport (MH2042 ETA 0810hrs or AK6092 ETA 0750hrs). Transfer to jetty for boat ride to Selingan Turtle Islands Park. The journey to Island will take approximately 1 hour.
(Please note that the boat will depart at 1015 for Selingan Island)
Upon arrival, register at Turtle Island Parks HQ and check into chalet. After lunch at cafeteria, free at own leisure (swimming or snorkeling) After dinner, rangers will guide you to specific place to observe turtle laying eggs. Process such as transferring the eggs to the hatchery and if there are young turtle hatchlings, one will also have an opportunity to observe the release of baby turtles to the open sea. Overnight at chalet (Common or Attached Bathroom). |

Breakfast and at 0700, Check out from chalet. Next, proceed in an air- conditioned vehicle to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center. At this center, you may get upclose and personal with “the Orang Utan” . Also, you may want to enjoy a walk in the Tropical Lowland Dipterocarp Forest of Borneo. Witness the feeding of the Orang Utan at the feeding platform. 1100 hrs return to Sandakan drive up hill to the Puh Jih Syh Chinese Buddhist Temple, which offers a panoramic view of the Sandakan Bay. After lunch, transfer to airport for your flight MH 2047 (ETD1400 hrs) or AK 6097 (ETD1420hrs) or Hotel. |
