Built on 50 hectare in the foothills of a cool mountain range that spreads out 8 kilometres north of the city centre, the course was officially opened with 9 holes in 1917. In 1994, Japanese designer Chohei Miyazawa, added the second nine, turning the course into a stern test of golf skills and stamina. Playing golf at between 950 to 1050 meters above sea level ensures cooler temperatures. An "eagles nest" like clubhouse overlooks the entire course and provides a beautiful view of the city. The front nine extends into the valley and most of the tee boxes are positioned well above the greens, making club selection "tricky". The back nine, plays more uphill and the finishing hole brings you back to the clubhouse. Dago is a traditional "English style" course with the greatest challenge being provided by the natural terrain. Each hole is carefully positioned, with its own unique characteristics. The quiet, peaceful surroundings and beautiful vistas of Bandung make it a very enjoyable course to play. |
